In an attempt to escape the world’s threatening volatility, I delved headfirst into work during the extended Easter weekend. Into something creative that I have virtually no experience with: print. And I ended up with a first prototype of a Negative White Zine.
And this age-old medium definitely sparked new joy for me, also as a welcome antidote to endlessly scrollable feeds and assuming algorithms. Maybe this zine will actually see a limited release as an experiment in the coming weeks.
Franz Ferdinand are still hungry
A staple of indie rock since 2002 with bangers like Take Me Out or This Fire, the Scottish band Franz Ferdinand still got the spark. Evelyn Kutschera captured impressions of their show at The Hall in Zurich. Catch an eye full:

We made our subscription cheaper
After careful consideration, we decided to lower the price of the Supporter tier from $55/year to $30/year, and $5/month to $3.50/month, respectively.
We’re more used to increasing prices. Everything is getting more expensive, and given current developments, the prices of vital goods will continue to rise.
At Negative White, we believe that music is better when shared. With our reporting, we want to contribute to this shared human experience. As an independent, non-profit platform run by volunteers, we’re aiming to make the subscription more affordable for anyone with a tighter budget, so they can access all of our stories.
If you think independent music reporting like ours should exist, we hope to count on your support with a subscription.
