First, some news: Weekly5 will be taking a break in June after today’s curation. On 6 July, you will once again receive your regular weekly dose of new music.
Negative White itself will not be completely silent, of course. In the first week of June, I will be visiting SXSW London and will probably have a thing or two to report. Stay tuned!
Now, one last hurrah before the summer break. Today’s selection features airy indie sounds, groovy vibes and ends with some gritty rock.

garbagepink
idiot now
Swedish newcomer garbagepink impresses with her latest single idiot now, shifting between bedroom pop and rich beats, creating a pleasing contrast between the buzzing electronic elements and her voice.

EDB
Bärn u nid Berlin
It’s rare to find a Swiss German track here, but EDB’s Bärn u nit Berlin is unmissable. Aggressive indie pop, driving rhythms and outstanding vocals performing straight out of life songwriting. Bursting with youthful energy.

bby
Voices In My Head, Pt. 2 (feat. Betty)
Voices In My Head by London band bby gets a second version, featuring singer Betty. Here, the wild boys are thoughtful yet still captivating with their DIY charm, casual atmosphere, and subtle sophistication.

The Stray Pursuit
Mess With My Head
Loud and direct, yet melodically concise, The Stray Pursuit blast through your ears with Mess With My Head. The raw vocals, sawing guitars and fist-pumping drums create a rousing, anthemic rock song.
